dhc2lovr Wins Ultimate Bet Bad Beat Jackpot - For The 2nd Time In a Month?

May 7, 2008

dhc2lovr Scores $448k Bad Beat Jackpot Yesterday.

BBJ Conspiracy?

Is it just me, or is there seriously something fishy going on at Ultimate Bet lately?

A day after I posted a story regarding an online poker player named “NioNio,” who is allegedly the prime suspect in a possible second “superuser” account situation at Ultimate Bet, a startling new piece of information has come to my attention regarding that exact same site where a lot of controversy has been going down as of late.

On March 25th, 2008, a very lucky online poker player named ‘dhc2lovr’ took home the Bad Beat Jackpot over at Ultimate Bet for $171,000 and change. This was the exact quote on Ultimate Bet’s Bad Beat Jackpot page at the time of the win:

“”Congratulations to the latest Bad Beat Jackpot winner dhc2lovr who hit on Tuesday, March 25 02:48:00 EDT at the table Tomnolen to the tune of $171498.31! “

Now flash-forward to May 6th, 2008. The SAME online poker player, ‘dhc2lovr,’ takes down the Bad Beat Jackpot AGAIN - this time for nearly $450,000! That’s not an illusion you’re seeing everyone - this guy must either be really lucky or something really shady is going on over at Ultimate Bet.

With all due respect, it’s not likely many people could ever even take down 1 Bad Beat Jackpot in their lifetime, let alone 2 within a month and a half’s time…and all on the same online poker site? That’s definitely news to me.

Many poker players have been buzzing at some of the most popular internet poker forums around the world talking about this not-so-isolated occurrence. What makes this even more strange is that Ultimate Bet makes no mention of ‘dhc2lovr’ winning the last Bad Beat Jackpot, and when it comes to them listing the previous winners (they normally list the last 6), his original $171k BBJ win was nowhere to be found. In fact, this is what the new headline reads on UB’s Bad Beat Jackpot page:

” Congratulations to the latest Bad Beat Jackpot winner dhc2lovr who hit on Tuesday, May 06 03:03:00 EDT at the table Muldrow to the tune of $448920.71!”

Now what is out right now regarding this unusual story is what you’ve seen here and probably what you’ve read on other poker forums and media sites. I’ll try to follow up on this as closely as I can, and hopefully get more info dug up on the supposed “NioNio” superuser account scandal that seems to be correlating in a not so coincidental way with the Bad Beat Jackpot saga of ‘dhc2lovr.’
