Asian Poker Tour Officially Confirmed For May 27th Start.

APT Will Features Events in Philippines, Macau, Seoul, and Singapore.

The newly-formed Asian Poker Tour - conveniently named the APT - will officially begin play in Manila, Philippines, later this month (May 27th, 2008). The $2,500 buy-in event has pros such as Quinn Do and Nam Le slated to appear. It also looks as though hometown Filipinos will make up a third of the field.

The opening event will have a guaranteed prizepool of $1,000,000 - the same as the other preceding APT events that will be taking place in Macau (China), Seoul (Korea), and Singapore. It is not yet known just how many other top pros will be making the trip to Asia to play in the inaugural series though.

The APT is currently owned by AsianLogic, a premier gaming company that caters primarily to markets that are land-based and online. The company hopes the Asian Poker Tour will be a great success, as they have already began expansion efforts to feature six events in 2009.
