Shannon Elizabeth Gets Carded
July 27, 2007

Shannon Elizabeth Gets Carded, Can’t Play Victoria Poker Championships in Australia. Hahahahahahaa. Talk about Poker Ownage.
She walked into the Crown Poker Room and was stopped by security guards. “Where is your ID?” they asked.
“I don’t have it with me,” Elizabeth responded.
“Then we can’t let you into the casino,” the security guards said.
“Don’t you know who I am?”
The guards returned a blank stare.
“I’m 33 years old,” Elizabeth said, her voice starting to choke with emotion, “why are you carding me?”
“We can’t let you in without ID.”
And with that, Elizabeth stormed off, and was denied access to the Victoria Poker Championships. It is unknown whether or not she came back later with ID.

Absolute Poker’s Bad Beats Won Twice
July 24, 2007
Bad Beat Jackpot
A bad beat never felt so good.
Back-to-back Bad Beats At Absolute Poker
It was double the insanity this past weekend at Absolute Poker. In just over four hours, our Bad Beat Jackpot was hit twice.
At 12:38 on Saturday, July 21st, JOE JETS lost quad 9s to SHORT_SHYT’s quad Jacks. Don’t feel bad for him, though. For his bad beat, JOE JETS walked away with $97,650.85.
The madness continued at 16:55 when JBAND277’s quad 10s were no match for GOLFCOFFEY’s quad Jacks. Another $26,890.35 made its way into JBAND277’s account for his losing hand.
Danish Court Rules Poker a Game of Skill
July 24, 2007
A Danish court ruled at the end of last week that poker can be won or lost based on the amount of skill a player possesses and not on how lucky they are. Said the judge, “You can win in poker based on being clever enough to hide your strategy, even though you might have a fairly poor hand.”
This ruling seems to supports Congressman Robert Wexler’s “The Skill Game Protection Act” (HR) 2610 bill, which seeks a carve out for online poker as a game of skill.
We shall see if this ruling makes its way to the USA.

The Victorian Poker Championship is a $3,000 No Limit Holdem Main Event. Shannon is gearing up for the inaugural PartyPoker Women’s World Open in a few weeks in London. I dont know about you guys but damn if Shannon was sitting next to me at a poker table, I would have a hard time keeping my poker face on.
